Looking for something different on your special day? You’ve definitely come to the right place. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about the services provided by wedding caterers Ross & Ross.
Yes, we are always open to suggestions for menus. This year alone we have been asked to do Indian menus, mac and cheese, Italian inspired, and Mexican inspired menus!
No, we are happy to work with other wedding caterers for your evening food, for example. We don’t have a wood fired oven, so if you were after pizzas for your evening food, we would recommend great local companies for you.
Yes, we do the full table lay up, and clear down for you, and remove all our waste.
We ask for a non-refundable 20% deposit to fully secure the date. The only thing this sets in stone is that we are coming on your special day. Everything else is changeable up until 30 days before your event, at which point the balance is recalculated and due.
The reception can finish whenever you want it to! It is your event, so we will work around whatever times you want.
We can provide a cake stand and bride’s knife for a small hire fee. We will cut the cake for you, and are able to provide plates and forks, or indeed any extra crockery you may require. We can provide and serve punch, mulled wine, tea, coffee, and even cocktails if you wish!
Our standard table setting includes plain white table cloths and napkins, however we can source other colours if you have a theme in mind.
We generally set up our buffet on a station for guests to help themselves to, however we have done events in the past where we have put a selection on each table for guests to help themselves to, to eliminate queueing.
Our focus is on great quality ingredients. We’re not into fancy foams and gels, and want our clients and guests to feel they’ve had a hearty meal! The last thing you want at the end of a meal is to still feel hungry! At our tasting session we prepare full sized portions, so you can get a good feel for the presentation and amount of food you will get on your day.
Yes, a complimentary part of our service is a catering manager. The manager is on site three hours before guest arrival, and is the last staff member to leave once food is complete. Similarly, if you go with our bar service, a bar manager is complimentary, and is the last person on-site at the end of the night.
They are all handmade and differ slightly, however they are roughly 35 x 45cm.
If you are having long dining tables, we generally advise not having one long running floral centrepiece, as this makes it difficult for us to put the boards down on tables. If you’re going for round tables, a large and low centrepiece doesn’t work well for the boards, as it won’t leave much space. We find that smaller, multiple centrepieces work really well, as do tall centrepieces which leave room on the table whilst still being striking. When designing the layout of your tables, you don’t need to worry too much about leaving empty space for the boards, as we will move bits and pieces around to make space at the appropriate time. The important thing is to have the wow factor when your guests walk in!
Yes, we are happy to serve your drinks if you would prefer to provide these yourself. We do charge a small fee to cover the cost of staffing, glassware, refrigeration, and disposal of your bottles. We are also able to offer great packages with a fantastic selection of drinks – check out our bar packages here.
Of course! We have a selection of ranges from local suppliers who we use regularly, and we can show you these at your tasting session. If you have a specific colour scheme or idea in mind, we can source other table settings for you for a small finding fee.
