You are currently viewing Case study: A beautiful garden Cotswold wedding

Sam and Sarah chose the picturesque setting of Kiftsgate for their Cotswold wedding in July 2017. Ross & Ross created the perfect menu to complement their special day.

Ross & Ross were perfect for the style of wedding we wanted. We hired some gardens locally and used a marquee for our reception. Not technically a wedding venue, we needed a caterer experienced in high quality ‘pop up’ catering and they did not disappoint. The canapés and 3-course meal were of restaurant standard (for 120 people!) including the choice of glassware and crockery. We used their bar service to provide our evening drinks; the service, prices and cocktails were perfect for the occasion.

Mr and Mrs Irvine, July 2017

Kiftsgate is actually a garden, not a wedding venue. But the beautiful gardens with hidden terraces and features made for a fantastic venue for Sam and Sarah’s special day. We guided the happy couple through the process of planning a marquee wedding and what things to look out for to avoid disaster.

The bride and groom had to get a marquee to put onto the driveway of the Manor House. To make the most of the beautiful views, they chose a semi-glass marquee, with the back half kept covered for the late night dancing.

The couple chose natural rustic decorations that were in keeping with the gardens and gave a French Riviera touch to the day – a nod to where they got engaged. Long dining trestle tables stretched down the tent, and made for a really sociable dining experience.

Ross & Ross used 28-day aged Hereford steak, which is incredible quality and just melts in your mouth. The bowls of veg gave a more relaxed and sociable vibe. We served the Béarnaise sauce, salsa verde and mustard in Kilner jars to keep in with the rustic theme.

Desserts were served on a slate and gave guests the chance to pick whether they wanted something fruity or chocolatey to round off their meal.

Drinks anyone?

cotswold wedding bar

We kicked off the evening bar with a cocktail hour – espresso martinis for everyone! It really gets people into the party spirit, and that kick of coffee is just what you need to get you up and dancing after dinner. We offered a full bar in the evening, using our premium brand spirits, wines and beers. In keeping with their Cotswold wedding, we tried to keep all of the drinks as local as possible. Cotswolds gin, Cotswold lager… unfortunately the tequila had to come a bit further though!
