You are currently viewing Elevating Your Event Experience – The Importance of Choosing Local Independent Producers
Planning a wedding is a monumental task and every detail plays a crucial role in creating the perfect day. One decision that significantly impacts the overall experience is choosing the right suppliers. We endeavour, where we can, to opt for local & independent producers as their care and attention to detail is second to none.
These professionals are often not just suppliers; they are artisans who take pride in crafting a gastronomic and unique experience. From artisanal cheeses, locally sourced meats and vegetables, sourdough bread and delicious baked treats to naturally grown flowers and hand-poured candles, our events are a celebration of the Cotswolds and its talented people.  Choosing producers like these not only elevates the quality but also contributes to the sustainability and vitality of the local economy and fosters a sense of community support.  Our events are a collaborative effort where local businesses come together to create something truly special.  As a beneficial by-product, the environmental impact of our events is therefore minimised by reducing the carbon footprint associated with transporting goods over long distances.
Recently we sent out a ‘Thank You!’ package to some of the brilliant planners and venue directors we are lucky enough to work alongside after another wonderful season.  The parcels included a handful of local products (which could withstand the Royal Mail journey!) –
Sea-Salt Chocolate Shortbread Hearts by Very Vanilla – Very Vanilla produces delicious, design-led wedding cakes and hand-made desserts.  We love working with Daisy and happily, her character is as gorgeous as her creations are to eat.  Her shortbread has also been known to keep our events team alive during the wee hours.
Personalised Name Cards by Inviting Writing – Tash & Vix went to school together and have been close friends ever since.  Vix is now pursuing her dream and exercising her crazy creative talents through her calligraphy business – she can do anything and everything and it’s always beautiful.
Dried Posies by Chippy Flower Farm – A two-acre plot dedicated to growing a wide variety of lovely and unusual flowers and foliage just outside Chipping Norton.  It was set up in 2021 to offer locals a more sustainable alternative to imported flowers and Tiff and her lovely team do a fabulous job of just that while making sure our tasting room looks seasonal and gorgeous.
Toasted Pumpkin Candle by Stowsmiths Candles – Hand-poured soy wax candles made approximately three minutes from Ross & Ross HQ by the lovely Katie whose scent creations are among the best we have smelt.  While eating food and scented candles don’t always go hand in hand, Katie produces candles which sit perfectly in our tasting room and never fail to get a mention.
