img_2171Our Halloween Pop Up marked the return to the spectacular Stone & Wood Tiles showroom in Chipping Norton. After a busy day setting up and decorating, it was fantastic to see every guest enjoying themselves and enjoying the delicious food prepared by our amazing chefs.

Once guests arrived at the venue, they were greeted by our team, and passed a complimentary glass of fizz. Whilst waiting for the rest of the guests to arrive, everyone had an opportunity to socialise with the large group of other diners, and take a look at the showroom decorated in horrifying Halloween decorations.

img_2135All guests were seated around 8pm, and gathering drink for the table. Our chef, Ross Whitmill, took centre stage and announced the courses we would be feasting on that evening. We were all the graced with our first course, Curried Gurnard with Pineapple Sambal. As you can see from the image, our chefs went above and beyond on the presentation. The hint of spice, was softened by the sweetness of the pineapple, which made it an incredibly enjoyable and flavoursome course.

hllwn-pop-up-2The next course consisted of a Artichoke Soup with Pesto. The earthy flavours teamed well with the strong herb notes of the pesto, along with a silky texture created a taste sensation! Personally, this was my favourite dish of the night, as the amount of flavour was unexpected, and the two ingredients collaborated so well together. Once the soup course was finished, it wasn’t long before guests had their main course set in front of them. Main course was made up of Roasted Rib of Beef, Creamed Leek Jus with Bowls of Roast Potatoes, Roast Vegetables & Greens. The idea of having the Roast Potatoes and the Vegetables in sharing bowls, was a brilliant idea as you were able to cater to your own needs, and select the portion size you desire. You could even go back for more! The Beef was roasted to perfection, and melted in your mouth, which contrasted well with the crispy and crunchy outer shell of the Roast Potatoes. The final course of the night was dessert, which was a Hazelnut Parfait & Slow Roasted Pears. A perfect, light dessert to top off the evening! The pear was roasted in a thick, syrupy glaze, which gave the pear an explosive amount of flavour. The parfait was smooth and sweet, which the pear acted a great accompaniment to. img_2170
After dinner, there was live music from the incredibly talented Harry Pane. Armed with his guitar and microphone, Harry treated us all to covers of all time classics, and his own original songs. The setting allowed everyone to sit comfortably on hay bails around Harry, and on a large bench table to sit and place your drinks on from the bar close by. Harry’s performance was created a relaxed atmosphere, and was a great end to what was a really successful evening.

hllwn-1We would like to say a big thank you to everyone that helped at our Halloween Pop Up, and a huge thank you to those at Stone & Wood Tiles as without their help our pop up wouldn’t have been possible, and Harry Pane for being our entertainment for the evening. A huge congratulations to our events and catering team who have once again impressed everyone with the incredible food and atmosphere.
