A great local butcher on your high street is a rare and valuable commodity. As well as sourcing the best quality British meat, butchers have a treasure trove of knowledge on the best cuts, cooking methods and so much more. National Butchers Week celebrates the hard work that they put in every day and aims to bring more UK shoppers to the counter of their local butcher.
Here at Ross and Ross, we’ve been spoiled with great local Cotswolds butchers. We source our meat from Barry the Butcher, a seasoned purveyor of the finest British meat for almost 40 years. Their legions of returning customers keep coming back for their excellent quality, great range of products and their particularly moreish sausages! Whether we’re catering a wedding or hosting a pop-up restaurant, they’re always our first port of call.
This year’s National Butchers’ Week will focus on the fantastic innovation that takes place within butchers’ shops across the land. As part of this focus, they are running an innovation competition via social media so if you’ve created a new product recently, visit the National Butcher’s Week website to find out how to enter!
The National Butchers’ Week is the brainchild of William Reed Business Media, the company behind the World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards, The International Wine Challenge and the World Steak Challenge.
National Butchers Week 2019 will be observed from 11-17 March 2019.
