We are lucky enough to be surrounded by some really gorgeous venues right on our doorstep, many of which have a unique history. Ross & Ross Events recently took over the management of weddings at Sulgrave Manor, a gorgeous wedding venue on the edge of Northamptonshire.

Built in the mid-1500s by direct ancestors of George Washington, Sulgrave Manor is not only an accredited museum but also an incredible place to say “I do”. Licensed for weddings in the Barn and also in the Great Hall of the museum, Sulgrave offers a range of spaces for you to create your perfect day. If you want to add a bit more history to your day, tours of the house can be arranged for your guests at an additional cost. Exclusivity at Sulgrave Manor means not only getting the entire site to yourselves but also taking the time to decorate the day before your wedding. Our wedding planner Georgie will be on hand to assist you and run through all the details to make sure your day goes perfectly to plan.

Once you’ve said your vows, you and your guests can explore the gardens of Sulgrave Manor. Between the formal hedges and topiary, the herb garden and the orchard, there are plenty of spaces for your guests to wander and enjoy a glass of fizz. Your younger guests will enjoy the new outdoor play space; created from natural materials, this corner of the wedding paddock will keep the little ones entertained.

Enjoy your wedding breakfast under the beams of the Courtyard Barn, or why not make use of the wedding paddock and pop up a tepee to make the most of the views across the countryside? Wherever you choose to have your wedding breakfast, the Ross & Ross Events team will work with you to create the perfect menu to share with your loved ones. You can take your inspiration from the rustic barn and have a relaxed sharing board dinner, or let the history of Sulgrave Manor spark your imagination and create your own state dinner to wow your guests.

After dinner, let the party begin. With bar packages tailored to meet your needs, the drinks can really flow. Why not add a cocktail hour to get guests in the party spirit? We love creating bespoke his and hers cocktails that show off your personalities. Or you could add a double shot of espresso martini to your dessert to perk your guests up and get them ready for the dancefloor. Whichever drinks you choose, our rustic pallet bar is ready and waiting to serve your perfect pour.

Whilst venue hire is primarily until 11pm, it is possible to extend this to midnight to make the most of your special day. If you’re going to party late, be sure to add some of our amazing cheese toasties to soak up some alcohol and keep guests dancing into the night. They’re so good our staff get chased down for them!

However you decide to personalise your day, make it a historic event at Sulgrave Manor, ancestral home to George Washington.

We will be at Sulgrave Manor doing open show rounds this Saturday (23 March 2019) between 10am and 12pm. Come along and see how we can help you with your special day.
